Bolton Wanderers are still in the Premier League and are set to strengthen their squad. Gary Megson has short-listed some of the players to be signed and is set to make the approach in the coming weeks.

The Bolton manager Gary Megson knows that he needs to reinforce the squad to make sure they don't have to fight the relegation battle next season. The Trotters are leading the race for Sean Geddes, the Walsall youngster, though Newcastle and Blackburn are also interested in him. It seems that Geddes will soon sign a deal with Bolton, as he chose to run his trials in the Reebok Stadium.

Megson is also keenly interested in signing Fabrice Muamba, the Birmingham midfielder. The deal looks possible as the Blues are relegated and Muamba will be tempted to stay in the Premier League. It seems that Bolton will have to pay £5M to land the midfielder.

The striker El-Hadji Diouf has shown no desire to continue with the club and it is sure that he will be released soon, though Megson has said that he will sell him at the right price only. Stelios Giannakopoulos, the experienced winger has been told to find a new club as his contract will not be renewed.

Bolton is also interested in signing the Crewe striker, Nicky Maynard.
