Arsenal & Tottenham eyeing deal for Mexican striker
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both interested in signing Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord in January.
The 22-year-old has been outstanding for Feyenoord since his arrival from Cruz Azul. He bagged 28 goals in the previous campaign and has added another 18 goals in the current season.
The Mexico international has the potential to get even better and L'Equipe report that his extraordinary performances have grabbed the attention of scouts from Arsenal as well as Tottenham.
Both north London clubs have been monitoring him throughout the season and they could go head-to-head to land his signature when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.
Feyenoord have not set an asking price for the marksman but they are likely to demand a significant fee in the New Year. They could easily request for €50-60m for the highly-rated star.
Dutch giants Ajax started the trend of commanding high transfer fees for their stars and Feyenoord are unlikely to let go of their prized asset on the cheap, particularly midway through the season.
