Chelsea want Bundesliga star as Thiago Silva's successor
Chelsea have identified Bayer Leverkusen centre-back Jonathan Tah as a potential successor to Thiago Silva next summer.
Silva has been a mainstay in the line-up for the west London giants since his arrival on a free transfer in 2020, but he could leave soon.
The Brazilian has shown signs of slowing down over the past few months and the Blues may decide against a new deal beyond June.
It is reported that the hierarchy are already looking into a replacement and feel Tah is perfectly suited with his physical presence.
The German will enter the final year of his contract next summer and Leverkusen could be prepared to sell him for €25 million.
A number of other Premier League clubs including Newcastle are looking at him, but the Blues will be hoping to persuade him.
Tah would be a good replacement for Silva as he possesses identical attributes. He is an excellent passer and likes to clear his lines.
