Djed Spence moves to Genoa on loan

Misfit full-back Djed Spence has been sent on loan to Genoa from Tottenham Hotspur, as the right-back looks set to quite White Hart Lane on a permanent basis. The 23-year-old also can move to Genoa in the summer for a fee of around 10 million euros; and the once highly-rated defender will now have an opportunity to impress in a new country.
Tottenham spent £20 million on Spence in 2022, as the player moved to Spurs from Middlesbrough with a massive reputation and hope for the future. Following an impressive loan spell with Nottingham Forest in 2021-22, where Spence appeared 39 times scoring two goals; Spurs were keen to tie down one of England's best young players to a long-term deal. However, Spence regularly had problems at Tottenham and loan spells to Rennes and Leeds United followed.
Spence will be hoping that he can get his career back on track in Serie A. The 23-year-old knows that should he fail to impress in Italy he might end up back at Tottenham, and he has reportedly told his friends and associates that he is done with the club.
