Arsenal table bid for striker Joshua Zirkzee

Despite Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta asking the club's fans to keep the faith in striking duo Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah, the Gunners have reportedly made their initial bid to sign Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee in the January transfer window. Amongst the other teams interested include Juventus and Man Utd, but the Gunners are in pole position to secure a 50 million euro deal for the 22-year-old 6 foot 4 forward.
Arteta's scouting network have been monitoring the Dutchman in action this season, and since the player's arrival at Bologna the forward has scored 9 goals in 34 Serie A games. Prior to Bologna, spells at Feyenoord as a youth player and then Bayern Munich followed. In Bavaria, Zirkzee actually appeared in 12 Bundesliga games before being told that he would be allowed to leave Germany for a new challenge.
Arsenal are at a crossroads in their season, as they have fallen five points behind league leaders Liverpool and have dropped out of the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. The Gunners still have it all to play for in the league and Champions League, but many believe a new attacking threat is required to guarantee success.
