Sergio Reguilon set for Brentford switch

Tottenham are to loan Spanish left-back Sergio Reguilon to Brentford on loan until the end of the season, with a view to sign the player on a permanent basis at the season's end. Brentford have struggled so far this season and have opted to bring in the former Real Madrid defender on a temporary basis.
At the beginning of the season, Reguilon arrived at Spurs' training ready for a new opportunity under newly appointed manager Ange Postecoglou, but the Australian boss told Reguilon that he wasn't in his plans.
Reguilon then decided to join Manchester United on a loan basis, but the deal was terminated at the beginning of January after United had some key players returning from injury. Reguilon failed to impress manager Erik Ten Hag during the period that the defender spent at Old Trafford.
The Bees' manager Thomas Frank is desperate to add new faces and will be delighted to have secured a deal for a player with tons of experience at the highest level, particularly one who is able to operate both in defence or in attack.
