French club Olympique Marseille have completed a coup in the signing of Cameroon international forward Faris Moumbagna from Bodo/Glimt. Moumbagna had been impressive since joining the club from Kristiansund, and had scored 15 goals in 28 games for his team. The 23-year-old will move to Marseille in a deal worth around 15 million euros and sign a long-term contract with the Ligue 1 outfit.

It is understood that Faris will complete a medical in Marseille this afternoon, and has already put pen to paper on a deal until 2028, earning around 32,500 euros a week.

Marseille's manager Gennaro Gattuso had informed the club's president Pablo Longoria that a new forward should be the Stade Velodrome side's primary transfer objective, and Longoria activated his extensive scouting network to secure a move for Faris. Faris only joined Bodo/Glimt last summer, so wrapping up a deal so quickly has been a major deal for the French club, who finished 3rd in Ligue 1 last season.

Marseille's form has been mixed so far this season, as the club currently sit in 7th place in the league table, chasing European qualification after 18 games.
