Napoli to seal deal for Belgium midfielder Ngonge

Cyril Ngonge is a Napoli player as of today, after the Belgian versatile attacking midfielder agreed a long term contract in Naples and saw the Serie A champions pay around 18 million euros to Hellas Verona. Ngonge will complete a medical today and a deal will be announced this evening.

Ngonge emerged from youth club Club Brugge in 2018, making his debut in the same year, before a transfer to PSV Eindhoven's youth team followed and later on a transfer to Dutch minnows RKC Waalwijk. Groningen were so impressed that they paid around 7.5 million euros to sign the player, and a transfer to Verona followed for 10 million euros two years later. Since making his debut in January 2023 for Verona, 9 goals in 33 games for Ngonge has ensured many scouts have tracked his progress.

However, it is Serie A club Napoli that have agreed a fee with Hellas Verona, with the total package believed to be worth more than 22 million euros, depending on performances.

Ngonge has yet to represent Belgium's national team, but appeared for the country's youth team at every level from under-15 through to under-19.
