Arsenal and Man Utd to compete for Newcastle man?
Arsenal and Manchester United could go head-to-head to sign Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson this winter, according to Evening Standard.
The Englishman has been a key player for the Magpies. He has netted eight goals this season despite missing half of the campaign with injuries.
It is now reported that the Tyneside outfit are ready to sell him before the transfer deadline as they look to stay in line with Financial Fair Play limits.
The Magpies have already seen Everton docked 10 points for breaching the profitability and sustainability rules and the Toffees could face another deduction.
They are wary of suffering the same fate later this year and want to keep themselves in the good books. Wilson has been put up for sale for £18 million.
Wilson would be a good signing for both Arsenal and United, but as things stand, neither club are in a position to spend before the transfer window slams shut.
Arsenal need at least one high-profile exit to afford Wilson. United, meanwhile, want to delay any business until the summer where a new management will take control.
