Chelsea & Man Utd want to sign Barcelona midfielder

Chelsea and Manchester United are both interested in landing the signature of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong this summer.

The Netherlands international has been a key player for the Catalan giants, but his future with the club appears uncertain at the moment.

His current deal expires in the summer of 2026, and reports claim that he has turned down a new contract extension with a pay-cut.

If he does not change his stance, the Catalans are expected to force his exit. United and Chelsea are prepared to make approaches.

However, Sport claim that Paris Saint-Germain are best placed to land his services after parting ways with Kylian Mbappe.

Les Parisiens want to bring in a midfield star at the end of the season and De Jong has been identified as a priority target.

They would be prepared to spend big - both in terms of fees and wages, considering they could save plenty with Mbappe's exit.

Mbappe's free transfer will free up around €200m from their wage bill.
