Man Utd favourites to land Frenchman ahead of Real Madrid

Manchester United are reportedly favourites to sign Lille defender Leny Yoro ahead of Real Madrid this summer.

The Red Devils are expected to spend big on a marquee centre-back and it has been reported that Yoro is a top target.

They have been monitoring his progress over the course of the season and are now prepared to step up their pursuit.

The Frenchman's current deal expires in the summer of 2025, and it is claimed that he could be available for €70m.

Madrid are reluctant to pay such a figure for the 18-year-old, but United have no such issues over the price tag.

They have shown their spending power over the years and are prepared to do the same to land Yoro ahead of Madrid.

Yoro could be seen as a replacement for Raphael Varane, who is expected to leave when his deal expires in the summer.

Varane could be followed through the exit door by Harry Maguire, who came close to leaving the club last summer.
