Man Utd enter race to sign Arsenal defensive target

Manchester United have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Ajax wonderkid Jorrel Hato in the summer, according to Football Insider.

The 18-year-old is one of the best young centre-backs in European football and his progress has caught the eye of elite European clubs.

Arsenal have been closely following his progress for a while, but Football Insider claim that they are not alone in the transfer race.

United are also keeping tabs on the highly-rated Dutchman, who only recently signed a new long-term contract with the Eredivisie giants.

No release clause was agreed as part of the deal which means that Ajax are in a strong position to negotiate or keep him this summer.

Hato has previously revealed his dream of making the switch to Arsenal following Jurrien Timber's move to the Emirates Stadium.

Hence, the Gunners should have an advantage over United, but they may have to wait for a transfer as Ajax are not exploring his sale.
