Garay seals Madrid switch
Real Madrid president, Ramon Calderon, has confirmed that the Spanish champions have clinched the signed of Ezequiel Garay from Racing.
It had been heavily reported three months ago that Garay was on his way to the Camp Nou to join Madrid's bitter rivals. However, Los Blancos have now snapped up the Argentine starlet for â¬10 million.
The president today said during a press conference: "We paid 10 million euros in cash for Garay - a player on whom we are very keen.
"This also demonstrates, moreover, the good economic standing of our club."
With fierce competition for the two centre back spots at the club, it is being rumored that Liverpool and Tottenham could both be in the hunt for Christoph Metzelder, who would otherwise spend the majority of next season warming the bench.:
