Man Utd make €35m bid to sign Bundesliga star
Manchester United have made an opening bid of €35 million to sign Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt this summer, according to Christian Falk.
The Red Devils have already bolstered their central defensive department with the arrival of teenager Leny Yoro from Lille.
However, manager Erik ten Hag is eyeing another centre-back and he has opened the possibility of reuniting with De Ligt.
Falk has now revealed that United have tabled a €35m bid for the Dutchman, but the proposal has been rejected instantly by Bayern.
The Munich giants want at least €50m up front with add-ons for the Netherlands ace, who has agreed terms with United.
Bayern have identified Jonathan Tah as a replacement for the Dutchman, but they are reluctant to provide a big discount on De Ligt.
United are prepared to play the waiting game and they could make another renewed bid for the central defender by the end of July.
Should they manage to sign De Ligt, Victor Lindelof is likely to be sold. The Swede has entered the final year of his contract.
