Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt is determined to join Manchester United during the summer transfer window, according to Sunday Express.

The Netherlands international has already agreed terms over a five-year contract with the Red Devils through his agent.

United are yet to make a formal bid on the table, but it has been reported that they could pay close to the £45m asking price.

A deal could be delayed until funds are recouped from player sales, but De Ligt has made it clear that he only wants to join them.

A number of other European clubs have enquired over his availability, but he has no desire to consider any other alternative.

Bayern want to part ways with De Ligt to sign Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen. They are currently playing the waiting game.

Should United fail to make an offer for the Dutchman, they have not ruled out the possibility of keeping him in the squad next term.
