Chelsea agree £34.5m deal to sign Spanish striker
Chelsea have agreed a deal worth £34.5 million to sign Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues have been searching for a new centre-forward in recent months and they have eventually found a solution in the form of Omorodion.
The 20-year-old spent last season on loan with Deportivo Alaves where he fared decently with eight goals from 35 appearances.
Despite his limited success, Chelsea have been convinced to land his signature. They believe in the potential of the Spaniard.
Omorodion is blessed with a strong physical and aerial presence. The Blues feel he could be a huge success in the Premier League.
The young striker has yet to represent Spain at the highest level, but he is currently with the Under-23 side at the Olympic games.
Omorodion's arrival is likely to coincide with the departures of Armando Broja and David Datro Fofana, who are surplus to requirements.
Broja is on the radar of AS Monaco while Leicester City are trying to sign Fofana on loan with an obligation to buy next summer.
