Manchester United are negotiating a compensation fee with Arsenal for Danish wonderkid Chido Obi-Martin, according to The Athletic.

The 16-year-old recently rejected a scholarship contract with the Gunners in favour of United. He has already agreed personal terms and undergone a medical with them.

However, United will need to pay a compensation fee for training costs. Instead of going through a tribunal, the club are keen to sort out a suitable package with the Gunners.

The Premier League will ratify the youngster's move in the coming weeks, should United reach a quick agreement with Arsenal over the compensation for the striker.

Obi-Martin is expected to play for the Under 18s and Under 21s next season, but manager Erik ten Hag has promised him with playing time in the coming years.

The Dane clearly feels he has a pathway to the first-team at United unlike at Arsenal. Mikel Arteta currently has his sights on purchasing a marquee centre-forward.
