Chelsea midfielder misses Wolves game with hamstring injury

Romeo Lavia news

Lavia out of Wolves game with hamstring issue

Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia has been ruled out of the Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers with a hamstring injury.

The Belgium international had a difficult debut campaign with the Blues and he made just one league appearance due to multiple injury woes.

Lavia was fully fit in pre-season this summer, but he has now picked up a minor hamstring problem in the lead-up to the Wolves game.

In his absence, Cole Palmer is expected to play from the number 10 position with Noni Madueke occupying the right side of the Blues attack.

Enzo Fernandez, who has been playing in an advanced role in recent weeks, will drop into the heart of the midfield alongside Moises Caicedo.

Wolves have been a bogey club for the Blues over the years. Chelsea have beaten them only once in the previous eight Premier League games.

They are currently on a three-match losing run against them and have the chance to end the dreadful streak at the Molineux Stadium today.
