Erik ten Hag says Man Utd could have won vs Brighton
Manchester United manager Erik ten hag has said that the Red Devils could have won against Brighton & Hove Albion earlier today.
United went into the Premier League game after a 1-0 win over Fulham. They started off brightly against the Seagulls, but lacked the cutting edge.
Amad Diallo cancelled out Danny Welbeck's first half goal, but the Seagulls sealed the points with a late stoppage time winner from Joao Pedro.
Speaking after the loss, Ten Hag said that he is disappointed and the club should have taken at least a draw. He added that they could have won too.
He said: "I'm disappointed because we should have taken at least a draw. We could have won as well but, in the end, you have no points and that is disappointing because it could have been very different."
United almost went ahead in the second half at the Amex Stadium. Alejandro Garnacho's shot was about to find the back of the net when it made contact with Joshua Zirkzee, who was in an offside position.
It was a blessing in disguise for the hosts, who went on to secure maximum points. Brighton have moved to second in the table with the win while United are 11th in the standings after two games into the season.
