Manuel Ugarte signs for Manchester United
Uruguayan defensive midfielder Manuel Ugarte has finally signed a deal with Man Utd, as the 23-year-old finally was announced by the club as their latest arrival. United have paid around £45 million in total to Paris Saint-Germain for the player, and he completes United's business this busy transfer deadline day.
Ugarte, born in Montevideo in 2001, started his career playing in his home country for Fenix before making a move to Portugal with Famalicao and then later Sporting Lisbon. PSG had monitored the player for over a year before making a 60 million euro transfer deal complete during the summer of 2023.
"It is an incredible feeling to join a club of this magnitude. One that is admired all around the world," Ugarte said after completing his transfer deal.
"The project that the football leadership discussed with me is extremely exciting. Manchester United is an ambitious club and I am an ambitious player.
"The passion of supporters is something that is very important to me; I know how incredible United fans are and I cannot wait to experience Old Trafford."
