London club agree to sign Chelsea defender on loan
Crystal Palace have reached an agreement with Chelsea over a season-long loan deal for Trevoh Chalobah, according to David Ornstein.
The Blues graduate was deemed surplus to requirements before pre-season and he had been training away from the first-team group.
Palace have now won the race to sign him temporarily. The Eagles have negotiated a straight loan deal without an option to purchase.
The Eagles recently lost a key figure in the squad in Joachim Andersen to Fulham. The arrival of Chalobah is a much-needed boost.
Chalobah will also be delighted with the opportunity. He has the chance to prolong his career in the Premier League with the Eagles.
The centre-back also gets to continue in the English capital and will be hoping to impress to secure a permanent transfer next year.
Aside from Chalobah, Raheem Sterling is also expected to leave the Blues on transfer deadline day. He is very close to joining Arsenal on loan.
