Former Chelsea boss in line for Man Utd job - Fabrizio Romano
Manchester United could consider former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel if Erik ten Hag is dismissed from the helm, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Ten Hag has been under immense pressure over the past few games and his situation is unlikely to have improved after back-to-back draws last week.
The club played out a 3-3 draw against Porto in the Europa League on Thursday night. Harry Maguire scored a late stoppage time equaliser.
On Sunday, United shared the spoils with a goalless draw against Aston Villa. They were overly cautious and never looked like finding the net.
Romano has now revealed that United will assess the manager's position. The hierarchy are scheduled to hold a meeting over the same tomorrow.
If Ten Hag were to be sacked, Romano feels Tuchel will be a strong candidate to takeover, having previously talked about the job this summer.
The German had direct talks with co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, but he eventually decided to take a break after his stint with Bayern Munich.
