Real Madrid have Trent Alexander-Arnold as priority target
Real Madrid have identified Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold as a top priority ahead of the January transfer window.
The England international has been an exceptional performer for the Merseyside giants and he has started fantastically under new manager Arne Slot.
Despite this, there has been no progress over a contract extension beyond June 2025. He is free to discuss pre-contract terms with foreign clubs from January.
The Athletic now report that Los Blancos are keen on landing the signature of the 26-year-old and they are ready to open talks with him at the turn of the year.
Alexander-Arnold has been non-committal over his future in recent weeks and Liverpool fear they could lose him on a free transfer when the season concludes.
It will be interesting to see whether Madrid attempt to land Alexander-Arnold in January with Dani Carvajal out with a serious knee injury.
Aside from a new right-back, Los Blancos are eyeing another central defender. They have been linked with Arsenal's William Saliba.
