Grant: Chelsea will return

Chelsea manager Avram Grant was understandably in a disapponted mood in the wake of his side's 6-5 defeat on penalties to Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League final on Wednesday but held onto the optimism that his club will play in a Champions League final once again.

Chelsea captain John Terry missed his spot-kick in the penalty shootout and this allow Man United to come back into it. Striker Nicholas Anelka missed the decisive kick and Man United won only their third European Cup trophy.

The match had finished 1-1 after extra time and Chelsea manager Grant says that Chelsea shall play in such a final once again. He paid tribute to his entite team and said:

"What can I say? In the beginning we dominated the game, as we have two times before, and then we lost on penalties.

"He was slipping over, but John Terry is the main thing that we are here for. We had a terrible - not terrible - difficult time but he was part of us, so we are not sorry for him, but for the team.

"The team were excellent, I'm very proud of them.

"But Terry? He was great. He was great, obviously, and great in the semi-final, and in this game. He's the reason they didn't create almost any chances in the game.

"Frank Lampard - yes, he was good. Also, Didier had chances of course, but...

"It's not the last time for Chelsea in this final."

The defeat implies that inside the last ten or so days Chelsea have been piped by Manchester United both to the Premier League silverware and the Champions League trophy.
