Chelsea eyeing Bundesliga winner on free transfer

Chelsea are aiming to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Jonathan Tah on a free transfer at the end of the season.

The Blues have largely focused on signing players below the age of 25 in recent times, but they could be prepared to change their policy.

Tah will enter the last six months of his Leverkusen deal at the turn of the year and he has no plans of penning a renewal with the club.

He is eyeing a new challenge away from the Bundesliga champions and reports claim that he would welcome a move to the Premier League.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are keeping tabs. The Blues are aiming to beat their Premier League rivals to his services.

Wesley Fofana and Levi Colwill are the regular centre-back pairing for the club, but the latter has been prone to making defensive errors.

Tah could replace Colwill in the starting XI if he were to join Chelsea. His arrival could lead to the departure of Axel Disasi or Benoit Badiashile.
