Liverpool make big transfer decision on Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool are determined to keep hold of defender Trent Alexander-Arnold amid interest from Real Madrid this month.

The England international has entered the final six months of his contract with the Reds. He is free to discuss a Bosman transfer for the summer with Madrid.

However, the European champions have their sights on signing him this winter and they recently made an enquiry to the Merseyside giants.

Liverpool immediately turned down the proposal and reports claim that the club have no plans of losing their prized asset in the current window.

Alexander-Arnold could walk away for nothing at the end of the season, but the Reds are prepared to take the risk amid their quest for the league title.

The club have exceeded expectations in Arne Slot's first season in-charge and they are currently six points ahead of Arsenal at the top of the table.

Slot is determined to keep the core of the squad together for the rest of the campaign and the club have no desire to cash in on Alexander-Arnold.
