Arne Slot reacts to Alexander-Arnold's performance vs Man Utd
Liverpool manager Arne Slot defended the performance of Trent Alexander-Arnold following the 2-2 Premier League draw against Manchester United.
The Merseyside giants went into the game as massive favourites and many expected them to come up with a convincing victory at Anfield.
However, they were up against a resolute United side with a point to prove. The points were shared, but Harry Maguire almost sealed a late win for the visitors.
Trent Alexander-Arnold had a game to forget against the Red Devils. He was constantly overlapped by Diogo Dalot and also conceded some scoring chances.
Speaking after the draw, Slot said that Alexander-Arnold has had very good games, but today was not his best performance in the Liverpool shirt.
The Dutchman added that Ryan Gravenberch did not provide sufficient back-up while Dalot and Fernandes were also brilliant on the day.
He said: "Trent has played mostly very good games for the club. Today was not his best game but that had to do with them as well.
"Sometimes Ryan [Gravenberch] was not close enough to him so it was a two-on-one situation.
"I would put it more on the quality of [Diogo] Dalot and Bruno Fernandes."
