Arsenal make official £60m bid to sign Ollie Watkins
Arsenal have made a formal bid worth £60 million to sign Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins before the transfer deadline, according to Daily Mail.
The England international has been on the Gunners radar in the past, and the club have now made an official approach to land his services.
The proposal has been immediately snubbed by Villa, considering they have an important Champions League tie against Celtic tonight.
However, the Gunners are still speaking with the player's representative and they could make a renewed approach in the next 24 hours.
Watkins is a boyhood Arsenal fan and has spoken about his dream of playing for the north London giants on several occasions.
Personal terms won't be an issue with the 29-year-old. It remains to be seen whether they can persuade Villa to part ways with him.
Watkins has not been at his best in the current season, but he has still contributed 10 goals and eight assists in all competitions.
