Middlesbrough are hoping to use the influence of Afonso Alves to lure Michael Bradley to the Teeside club this summer. The Heerenveen winger is desperate to move to the Premiership.

Everton have pulled out of the race to sign the American player, and now Middlesbrough head the list of clubs who wish to sign the talented player.

Middlesbrough are believed to be ready to offer as much as £7 million to Heerenveen in order to sign the player.

The 20 year old is reportedly ready to leave Heerenveen after many of the club's fans blamed him for costing the side a chance of Champions League qualification.
