Chelsea expected to sign English winger on permanent deal
Chelsea are expected to sign Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho on a permanent deal following his season-long loan, according to Sky Sports.
The England international joined the Blues from the Red Devils last summer. The London giants negotiated an obligation to buy for £25 million if they finished 14th or higher in the Premier League.
Sancho had a perfect start with assists in his first three appearances, but he has managed just three more goal contributions from his next 20 league games for the Blues.
David Ornstein recently reported that Chelsea can cancel the obligatory buy clause with a £5m penalty fee, but Sky Sports claim that the club have no plan to do such a thing.
The Blues are expected to proceed and purchase Sancho in the summer. Manager Enzo Maresca is likely to make the decision to keep him or sell him for a small profit.
Sancho has not contributed a goal or an assist in the league since January 4. He will be looking to make amends when the Blues face Tottenham Hotspur after the break.
