Ruben Amorim makes Jonathan David transfer decision
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has decided against signing Lille striker Jonathan David on a free transfer, according to iNews.
The Red Devils are likely to enter the transfer market for a new marksman, considering Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have failed to impress.
David has been linked with the club in recent weeks, but iNews clarify that Amorim is not keen on bringing the Canada international to Old Trafford.
They mention: "Despite making enquiries, it is unlikely David will move to Manchester United, with the versatile forward not the kind of profile Ruben Amorim is seeking."
David has been in superb form for Lille in France. He has registered 23 goals and provided another 10 assists in all competitions.
The 25-year-old is open to moving to the Premier League later this year, but United have already pulled out of the race to sign him.
David still has plenty of interest. Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United continue to be linked with the ex-Gent man.
