Man Utd to target French striker if they don't sign Delap

Manchester United will focus on signing Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta if they miss out on Ipswich Town ace Liam Delap, as per Givemesport.
The Red Devils are expected to strengthen their attacking department for next season. A new centre-forward is one of the top priorities for manager Ruben Amorim.
Delap is high on the Red Devils' radar but there is no guarantee that the 22-year-old will choose them amid interest from elsewhere.
Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur among others are interested in signing him, considering his £30 million relegation release clause.
Givemesport claim that United are putting up a contingency plan in place and they could target Mateta if Delap does not join them.
Mateta has developed into a fine marksman during his time at Palace and he has netted an impressive 36 goals from the start of last season.
The Frenchman's current deal expires in June next year and he could be signed for a package of around £40 million during the summer.
