Arsenal expected to sign Spanish star this summer

Arsenal are expected to sign Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad this summer, according to Daily Mail.

The Gunners are poised to strengthen their squad in the summer and a new defensive midfielder will be one of the priorities.

Jorginho has already agreed a pre-contract to join Flamengo when his contract expires this summer. Zubimendi will replace him.

Personal terms are not expected to be an issue and it is only a matter of time before the Gunners secure an agreement with the Spaniard.

Meanwhile, talks are ongoing with midfielder Thomas Partey over a new deal. As things stand, the club are not close to finalising terms.

If the Ghanaian declines a renewal, the club could enter the transfer market for another midfielder ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Arsenal recently bowed out of the Champions League in the semi-final stage against Paris Saint-Germain after a 3-1 aggregate loss.

The onus is now on finishing the league campaign on a high.
