Chelsea make enquiries for Everton and Ajax stars

Chelsea have made fresh enquiries for Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite and Ajax wonderkid Jorrel Hato, according to journalist Simon Phillips.

The Blues recently qualified for the Champions League with a fourth-place finish in the Premier League. They followed it up by beating Real Betis in the Conference League final by a 4-1 scoreline.

The club are now expected to spend big in the transfer window. They have already agreed to land Liam Delap from Ipswich Town to bolster the centre-forward department.

A new centre-back is another priority for the Blues before the Club World Cup and they have reportedly made enquiries for Branthwaite and Hato over the past few days.

Branthwaite has developed into one of the best central defenders in English football. He could be available for a package of around £80 million.

Hato has likewise impressed in the Eredivisie with Ajax. The youngster has been linked with a Premier League move with Arsenal in the past.

The Dutchman could be prised away for around £42 million.
