Arsenal hold initial talks to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga
Arsenal have held initial talks with Chelsea over goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, according to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners are keen on landing a new backup goalkeeper after allowing Neto to return to Bournemouth following his season-long loan.
Arrizabalaga has emerged as a surprise target, and Romano claims that initial discussions have been held between Arsenal and the Blues.
The Spaniard had a good 2024/25 campaign with Bournemouth on loan. He made almost 100 saves and kept eight clean sheets in the league.
Arrizabalaga is prepared for the next step in his career and could be tempted to joining the Gunners. He will get the chance to stay in London.
Arsenal could also save funds for the purchase of a marquee striker and winger as Arrizabalaga has a release clause of just £5m in his contract.
The London giants could have an upper hand over other suitors as they could be willing to match his £150,000 per week salary.
