Arsenal & Chelsea eyeing moves for Ousmane Diomande?

Arsenal and Chelsea could compete for the signature of Sporting Lisbon sensation Ousmane Diomande this summer, according to Record.

The Ivory Coast international has developed into one of the best centre-backs in the Primeira Liga and could pursue a bigger challenge this summer.

Crystal Palace have been linked with his services in recent days, but Record claim that Arsenal and Chelsea have also made regular checks on him.

Sporting are aware of the increasing transfer interest, but they have no plans of sanctioning the defender's sale on the cheap this summer.

The centre-back presently has a release clause worth €80 million in his contract and Sporting are set to demand at least €60 million for a sale.

Arsenal are already locked in discussions with Sporting for striker Viktor Gyokeres and could use the same to negotiate for Diomande too.

It remains to be seen whether a deal materialises. The Gunners are also interested in Ajax centre-back Jorrel Hato. He has been a long-term target.
