Arsenal step up contract talks with experienced star
Arsenal have stepped up contract negotiations with midfielder Thomas Partey, according to reports in Turkey.
The Ghana international had a good 2024/25 season with the Gunners where he made 52 appearances in all competitions.
He was able to stay injury free for the entirety of the campaign and this has convinced the hierarchy to extend his stay.
Partey's current deal concludes at the end of June, but negotiations are at full speed to commit him to a new contract.
The midfielder has been offered to Galatasaray and Fenerbahce in recent days, but he is keen to stay put with the Gunners.
The onus is on the Arsenal hierarchy to find a suitable agreement with the player before his contract expires on June 30.
If there is no resolution by then, we could see several European teams enter the race including former club Atletico Madrid.
Manager Diego Simeone continues to remain an admirer of Partey and could seek a reunion with the 32-year-old star.
