Man Utd still interested in signing Viktor Gyokeres
Manchester United have not given up on signing Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres despite his preference to join Arsenal this summer, according to A Bola.
The Sweden international had a stellar 2024/25 campaign with the Portuguese champions. He scored 54 goals and provided 13 assists from just 52 appearances in all competitions.
He is widely expected to pursue a new challenge and reports have claimed that Arsenal are his dream destination. However, the Gunners are not guaranteed to sign him for now.
They have earmarked RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko as their number one priority and could only focus on Gyokeres if the former can't be purchased.
United are keeping a close eye on the situation. If Arsenal end their interest in Gyokeres, they could attempt to swoop for his services from Sporting.
Gyokeres has a staggering release clause worth £85 million in his contract, but Sporting are ready to sanction his sale for around £68m this summer.
They have no plans of negotiating on their price tag.
