Chelsea agree £52m deal to sign 20yo English winger
Chelsea have finalised the signing of Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens in a deal worth £52 million.
The Blues were determined to land the England youth international before the Club World Cup, but they were unable to strike a deal.
After multiple rounds of negotiations, the club have finally reached an agreement to land the winger for £48.5m with £3.5m in add-ons.
Gittens is undergoing his medical in the United States and should be unveiled as the club's latest summer signing after Joao Pedro.
Pedro has been registered in the Blues squad for the latter part of the Club World Cup, but the same won't be the case with Gittens.
The 20-year-old is apparently Cup-tied for the tournament, considering Dortmund are also involved and have reached the quarter-final too.
Despite securing deals for Pedro and Gittens, the Blues are expected to pursue another wide attacking player in the near future.
Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho and Lyon's Malick Fofana are among the names on their wishlist at the moment.
