Man Utd make shock move for Lyon midfielder

Manchester United have made a shock approach to sign Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso this summer, according to L'Equipe.

The Red Devils have made just one marquee signing in Matheus Cunha, but there should be more activity in the next few weeks.

The club are in advanced talks with Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo and remain optimistic of securing an agreement in the near future.

Meanwhile, a defensive midfielder could be signed and reports claim that the club have contacted the entourage of Lyon's Tolisso.

Tolisso had a brilliant season with Lyon last time around. He made 19 goal contributions and was one of their standout players.

He was recently promoted as the new captain of the club after Alexandre Lacazette's exit, but could yet head for the exit door.

United are studying the possibility of a transfer through his agent, but Tolissio is not expected to push for a summer move.

He is attracted to the Red Devils project, but a deal will depend on whether United can convince Les Gones to sanction his sale.
