Lille keeper Chevalier to join PSG

Paris St Germain will sign Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier this week, as there remains uncertainty over Gianluigi Donnarumma's future at the French capital club, with the Italian set for a possible Chelsea or Manchester United transfer. Chevalier has caught the eye at Lille since securing the number 1 jersey, appearing 99 times in Ligue 1 and recently receiving his first call up to the French national side.

PSG have already reached a verbal agreement with Lille to sign the shotstopper, believed to be for a fee of around 15 million euros, and all that remains is for Chevalier to fly to Paris to undergo a medical.

Last week, current number 1 keeper Donnarumma was informed of Chevalier's impending arrival, and the Italian keeper then informed his agent that a transfer away should progress as quickly as possible.

Both Manchester United and Chelsea are desperate to sign the Italian keeper, with both prepared to match the reported 100 million euro transfer fee to sign arguably the best goalkeeper in the world. It is understood that Donnarumma is also keen on a move to the Premier League, and the player's agent has already been in early talks with several English clubs regarding a transfer.

A move for Chevalier will be announced some time next week.
