Portugal international to swap Arsenal for VfB Stuttgart
David Ornstein has exclusively reported that Fabio Vieira looks set to depart Arsenal after VfB Stuttgart opened talks with the North London side for the player's transfer. No transfer fee has yet to be agreed, but the Gunners are said to be willing to accept a fee of around £20 million for the playmaker.
Fabio Vieira spent last season on loan at his former club Porto but the Portuguese outfit were not willing to match Arsenal's asking price.
The Gunners paid 35 million euros for Fabio Vieira in June 2022, and three years later and just 33 Premier League games under his belt, he will be allowed to depart the Emirates Stadium with two years of his contract remaining.
Arsenal are not willing to let Fabio Vieira leave the club on another loan deal and Arsenal's new sporting director, Andrea Berta, has been busy trying to secure a new club for the Portuguese midfielder.
Should VfB Stuttgart be unable to make an agreement with Arsenal, Bundesliga rivals Hoffenheim and Spanish side Villarreal are possible next destinations for the midfielder.
