Spurs in direct contact with Palace for Eberechi Eze
Tottenham Hotspur are in direct negotiations with Crystal Palace to sign Arsenal target Eberechi Eze, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The England international made 25 goal contributions for the Eagles last season. He scored a memorable FA Cup winner against Manchester City.
He is now open to a bigger challenge with Champions League football and Romano claims that Spurs are leading the race ahead of Arsenal.
The north London side have proposed to pay £55 million plus £5m in add-ons for the 27-year-old, who recently started against Chelsea in the league.
Arsenal are also firm admirers of the talented playmaker, but they are reliant on player sales before they can afford a move for the Palace star.
Eze would ideally prefer a transfer to the Gunners over Spurs, but as things stand, he is leaning towards the latter with no approach from Arsenal.
Spurs are keen to wrap up a deal as soon as possible such that Mikel Arteta's side can't attempt to hijack the pursuit of the playmaker.
