Echeverri on his way to Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen have agreed a deal to sign Claudio Echeverri on loan for the 2025-26 campaign, paying Man City around £500,000 for the privilege. The 19-year-old Argentinian winger wants to move elsewhere, and Roma had been a potential location for his next move, however Erik Ten Hag's side have won the race to secure the former River Plate starlet.

Roma had reportedly made a bid of 25 million euros to City that was rejected, with Pep Guardiola preferring to keep the Argentine and loan him out for the season for more first-team experience. Echeverri now has the option of a move to the Bundesliga to join one of the country's youngest squads. It is reported that no permanent fee is included as part of the deal, and mutual understanding that the transfer is a temporary one.

Echeverri has appeared once in the Premier League under Guardiola, but had been expected to have more opportunities at City this season, however a host of new faces has arrived at the Etihad Stadium leaving Echeverri seeking a transfer elsewhere.
