Arsenal open to parting ways with versatile winger
Arsenal could reassess the situation of Gabriel Martinelli when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.
The Brazilian was the subject of transfer interest earlier this summer. Arsenal received bids of around £40 million for his services, but the club wanted at least £60 million to contemplate his sale.
Hence, a transfer did not materialise in the end, but the speculation over his future continues to exist. Martinelli has had a tough start to the season and the onus is on him to perform at a higher level.
With fresh competition from Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke for the left wing position, Martinelli can no longer take his place for granted in the starting line-up in the forthcoming months.
His performances will be analysed by the hierarchy. The door could open for a winter sale if he continues to struggle for consistency.
Serie A giants AC Milan are reportedly keeping tabs on his situation. They consider him as a potential replacement for Rafael Leao.
