Chelsea want to hand new contract to 23yo star - Romano

Chelsea want to discuss a new contract with midfielder Moises Caicedo amid speculated interest from Real Madrid, according to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Ecuador international has been an undisputed starter for the Blues in the Premier League and has already established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the division.
His progress has caught the eye of Real Madrid and it has been claimed that they could make an approach for his services at the end of the ongoing campaign.
Amidst this, Romano has clarified that the Blues want to discuss a new contract with Caicedo and he remains one of the crucial faces of the long-term project.
He said: "I maintain what I said in the summer, Chelsea want to discuss a new contract with Moises Caicedo. He’s already on a big contract. He remains one of the crucial faces of the project for the long-term."
Chelsea suffered a dip last weekend after a surprise 2-1 defeat to Sunderland in the Premier League. They will be aiming to return to winning ways when they face Wolves in the Carabao Cup fourth round.
