Manchester City are looking to appoint Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca as their new manager next summer, according to David Ornstein.

The Cityzens have been managed by Pep Guardiola for the past decade, but the Spanish tactician could walk away from the club when the season ends.

Guardiola is presently contracted until the summer of 2027, but the 54-year-old is said to be contemplating stepping down from the head coach role.

Maresca is one of the leading contenders to succeed the Spaniard. He was previously an assistant manager under Guardiola for several seasons.

The Italian has a contract with the Blues until June 2030 and it would require a hefty compensation for him to move to the Etihad Stadium.

Maresca's relationship with the Chelsea hierarchy has soured over the last week, but they are not contemplating any change in the dug-out.

Chelsea are presently fourth in the Premier League with 28 points and on course to qualify for the Champions League again next season.
