Man Utd eyeing loan deal for former Chelsea midfielder

Manchester United are weighing up a loan move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher during the winter transfer window, as per Teamtalk.

The Red Devils tried to land the England international from Atletico last summer, but they were unsuccessful with a temporary move before the transfer deadline.

Gallagher was also happy to continue with the La Liga giants, but he could push for a new challenge this winter amid the lack of regular playing time.

The former Chelsea man has been largely limited to bench appearances and United seem prepared to tempt him with a renewed loan proposal at the turn of the year.

Atletico are not willing to sanction a straight-loan for the player, and United may have to include a conditional obligation to buy at the end of the ongoing season.

Tottenham Hotspur have also been credited with fresh interest in Gallagher, but the midfielder is likely to give preference to the Red Devils, as per reports.
