Chelsea want new midfielder due to Romeo Lavia's injuries

Chelsea are planning to sign a new midfielder next year due to the persistent injury concerns for Romeo Lavia, according to The Athletic.
Lavia was signed from Southampton few years ago with a glowing reputation, but the Belgian has barely started games for the Blues due to regular injuries.
The Blues' hierarchy have grown frustrated over his unreliable fitness and they are expected to pursue a marquee midfielder next summer.
Manager Enzo Maresca may ideally want a solution in January in order to lessen the workload on Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez.
However, Chelsea believe they may have to wait until the end of the campaign in order to secure their desired and priority targets.
Lavia is currently sidelined without a possible return date. If his situation does not improve, he could be offloaded during the summer.
Marseille have expressed an interest in signing the Belgian. They are likely to push for a cut-price deal, given his ongoing injury woes.
