Man Utd eyeing summer swoop for 25yo Wolves star

Manchester United could make a surprise move for Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Joao Gomes during the summer transfer window, according to Manchester Evening News.

The 25-year-old has been a key player in the heart of Wolves' midfield alongside Andre, but both players are expected to head for the exit door once the Midlands outfit are relegated to the Championship.

Wolves are presently 12 points adrift of safety with just seven matches remaining and look destined to return to the second tier this summer.

Amidst this, M.E.N claim that the Red Devils are weighing up a possible move for Gomes. He is one of the top midfield targets on their radar.

Gomes has been linked with the Mancunian giants on many occasions and it appears the club could revive their pursuit when the season ends.

United could sign a couple of midfielders this summer. Casemiro is set to leave on a free transfer, while Manuel Ugarte has been tipped to be sold.
